DESTINATION
Bali is entwined with spirituality and religion and is the centre of the daily life of the Balinese. Every day, millions of Hindu Balinese place offerings, canangs, to the Gods outside their homes, work places and shops. Such is the religious importance to these people that everything in their life plays a secondary part. Life for them surrounds around the banjar (the temple) that, next to family, is the strongest and ruling influence over their lives.
Nusa Dua is the name of the peninsula that extends off the southern tip of the island of Bali. It is a pristine complex of international resort hotels and conference centres. As well as a host of luxury hotels, Nusa Dua is home to the most popular golf course in Bali and the main convention centre on the island. The peninsula’s beaches are glorious; white sand, deep, long and safe for swimming.

BANKING/CURRENCY
Bali, being part of Indonesia, uses the Indonesian currency, the Rupiah (abbreviated, Rp.) as its monetary unit. Banknotes come in a range of denominations, including the commonly available Rp.100,000, Rp.50,000, Rp.20,000, Rp.10,000, Rp.5,000, Rp.1,000, Rp.500 and Rp.100 notes, while useful coin denominations are Rp.100 and Rp.50.
Foreign money can be exchanged at most banks in Bali. Banking hours are usually from 8:00am to 3:00pm from Monday to Friday and until 1:00pm Saturday. Money can also be changed at the airport, at hotel cashiers, and at authorised money changers (found in almost every medium to large village and city). The exchange rates are published daily in newspapers and are usually posted prominently wherever money can be changed. Most authorised money changers operate seven days a week, and remain open daily until about 10:00pm.
CLIMATE
Bali is in the tropics, located about 6 degrees South of the equator. It means that the sun rises at 6am and sets at 6pm most of the year. The temperature variation is very small, and Bali does not have four seasons but has only wet season, typically from September to February, and a dry season for the other half of the year. But the difference is marginal; at the peak of the wet season you will see about a half-hour to an hour serious downpour in the afternoon. The rest of the time is nice, warm temperatures, especially with a twist of sea-breeze in the beaches of Kuta or Nusa Dua.
